What is an eBook?

"eBook" is short for "electronic book."

It is a book-length publication in digital form.

eBooks have text, images, or both,

and are produced on, published through,

and readable on computers or other electronic devices.

Today we will compare print books and eBooks

to find things that are the same and different.

Go beyond the walls of your library with the Destiny Quest mobile app!

Browse the school library’s Follett eBook collection anytime, anywhere

Students and staff can now use the powerful searching application, Destiny Quest mobile app, to browse the library’s collection – anytime, anywhere - from an Apple iOS or Android mobile device.

By browsing through the collection with the Destiny Quest mobile app, users can search for Follett eBooks, check out an eBook and download it to their iPad or Android Tablet – with the free Follett Digital Reader app. Designed to meet the needs of PreK-12 schools, the Follett Digital Reader app offers students and staff the ability to read online or download for offline reading; automatic return of the eBook when the loan period expires.

To get started, students and staff first download the Destiny Quest mobile app from the App Store or Android Google Play. For information about downloading and configuring the app, users can view the video below.

Next, set up the app by inputting the following URL:  destiny.bcps.org, selecting our school, and typing in your username and password.  If you do not know your username and password, ask the media specialist for details.

Following the Destiny Quest mobile app setup, download the free Follett Digital Reader app from the App Store or Android Google Play. To sign in to the Follett Digital Reader app, input the web address (or URL) of our FollettShelf (ask your media specialist for the URL) and your username and password.

We know everyone will enjoy this new service!
